The purpose of this study was to examine the influences of coping strategies and using alcohol on elderly adults’ psychological well-being and suicidal ideation. This was a cross sectional, descriptive design. There were 60 elderly adults recruited from community. The mean age was 69.72. Multiple Regression R2 was 49% for psychological well-being and 56.8% of the suicidal ideation variance. Problem-Focused Disengagement and using alcohol with negative emotion were significant predictors of psychological well-being and suicidal ideation. Emotion-Focused Disengagement was a significant predictor of suicidal ideation. Problem-focused disengagement was found to predict increasing elderly adults’ psychological well-being and decreasing suicidal ideation.

The purpose of this study was to examine the influences of spiritual well-being and parents’ rearing attitude on the elderly adults’ psychological well-being and suicidal ideation. \r\nThis was a cross sectional, descriptive research design. There were 60 elderly adults recruited from community. The mean age was 69.72. The Stepwise Multiple Regression variables accounted for 52.3% of the psychological well-being variance and 33.9% of the suicidal ideation variance. Life satisfaction/self-actualization and life/self-responsibility were the significant predictors of elderly adults’ psychological well-being. Life satisfaction/self-actualization was a significant predictor of elderly adults’ suicidal ideation.\r\n
