STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

The objective of this project is to collect anonymous student feedback about our BIO 496 (Aquatic Ecology) course. Data may be used in presentations at professional conferences and peer-reviewed publications in pedagogical research.

STATEMENT OF RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

Students will receive a survey at the end of class shortly after midterms and at the end of the semester. Students will have approximately ten minutes to complete the survey and leave it in a box in the classroom, and faculty will leave the room after handing out the survey. All responses will be voluntary and anonymous.

ANTICIPATED RISKS AND BENEFITS

No risk other than the minimal risk is anticipated in this study.

SUBJECT SELECTION

The thirteen students enrolled in the fall 2020 BIO 496 course will be asked to participate. Participation will be voluntary.

CONFIDENTIALITY

Personally identifiable information will not be collected.
